304 | Not Modified | Cache hit — browser keeps its copy. |
400 | Bad Request | The request itself is malformed. |
401 | Unauthorized | Login / token required or invalid. |
403 | Forbidden | Authenticated but not allowed. |
404 | Not Found | Nothing at this URL. |
409 | Conflict | State clash, e.g. duplicate create. |
410 | Gone | Permanently removed, no redirect. |
418 | I'm a teapot | An April Fools' classic (RFC 2324). |
422 | Unprocessable Entity | Syntax fine, semantics invalid. |
429 | Too Many Requests | Rate limited; back off and retry. |
500 | Internal Server Error | Server-side generic failure. |
502 | Bad Gateway | Proxy got nonsense from upstream. |
503 | Service Unavailable | Overloaded or maintenance. |
